Our Story.

Hammer Targets was born out of the need for a simpler, modular, functioning steel target system that didn’t cost too much. We had grown tired of poorly made products shipped from overseas that did not emulate real-world firing conditions, so together we set about building a better solution from the ground up starting with the shooting experience. Nothing was off the table. Existing stands were too heavy, others can be knocked down and none were quickly deployable without tools.

This lead us to explore a completely new approach. A single spike standing at center mass with a vertical hammer for fast deployment, combined with a removable gong welded to a metal sleeve at eleven degrees rather than hanging from chains. This allows for a faster return-to-shooting position and optimal splatter control. The final innovation was a modular neck that can be removed and other targets used; there is even an archery head unit currently in development. No tools required, no hassle, just performance.

The resulting Hammer Target has already proven to be the best solution on the market and is available at a reasonable cost. We are a family owned business; my wife leads the business strategy while myself and two sons actively participate in every aspect of the enterprise. Together we wanted to show the boys (well…young men) that the American dream is still alive, especially now. I served Hewlett Packard for a decade and the number one lesson I learned was that you can create a better product, manufacture it in America and sell it for a reasonable price resulting in a win-win for both parties.
